Last Frontier se passará entre os eventos retratados nos filmes Dawn of the Planet of the Apes e War for the Planet of the Apes. Os jogadores poderão controlar humanos e símios. Sabe-se que serão personagens originais e que as escolhas que fizerem poderão matá-los durante a aventura. Ou seja, na prática, Last Frontier terá vários finais possíveis.
